Ronald Stones OBE

A graduate of Britain’s first technological university, and with a postgraduate qualification in Education, he holds an MBA in Educational Leadership (International). Over a span of more that twenty-five years, he held directorship positions of four of South-East Asia’s most prestigious international schools.

In 2006, he was appointed to Sampoerna Foundation to advise the Board of Executives, and to direct a national school quality improvement program in Indonesia. In 2008 he took over directorship of Green School in Bali – a pioneering sustainability project in education that has captured global media attention.

In 2010, he was offered the role of Managing Director and subsequently, Deputy Chairman of One East Asia – an international art management organisation with its head office in Singapore. He took up this position while handing over the leadership of Green School over a one-year period. He also developed the work of his own leadership and management consultancy, Foundations.He was then offered the position of Vice President and Head of Education Practices to set up a whole new area of social entrepreneurship work in education in the developing world – beginning with India, Indonesia, and Vietnam – for a successful organization in private investments based in Singapore. He relinquished that position to concentrate on the development of his own re-branded consultancy. One year into the consultancy, he was offered the opportunity to design, establish and develop the education arm of a new private museum which planned to open in Singapore – an opportunity too good to turn down.

He is a seasoned collector of art, is the author of four published novellas, and has project-directed the design and construction of a villa and conference facility in Bali. He has maintained a position on the Board of Directors of Green School. Ronald Stones has been awarded several honours including recognition by Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II for his services to education.
